Step 1: Create a License Key Generator
Before issuing licenses, you must create a Generator:
Go to PaddlePay → License Generators in your WordPress admin.
Click Add New Generator.
Configure:
Generator Name – A label to identify your generator.
License Key Format – Pattern for keys (e.g.,
XXXX-XXXX-XXXX).Product Linking – Link the generator to a specific WooCommerce product.
Activation Limits – Limit how many devices can activate the same license.
Click Save Generator.
Why a Generator?
A Generator defines how license keys are created and ensures keys are unique and tied to the correct product.
Step 2: Issue Licenses
Once a generator exists, licenses can be:
Automatically generated when a product is purchased.
Manually created from the Licenses page in the PaddlePay menu.
